LostVoices is an organization founded to bring life-changing creative programs to incarcerated and at-risk young people.

We help these kids take a look into their hearts and write original roots music, then share their feelings by performing in front of their peers in a professional concert situation. Every group we've worked with has experienced tremendous personal growth and healing, not just among the direct program participants, but also among the other at-risk kids who see their peers exploring some of their most difficult thoughts and feelings on stage.

At the same time, the words and music produced in these programs shout out to the world that these young lives are worth saving. The three-minute PBS "interstitial" below will give you a  quick but powerful look at exactly what we're talking about. It documents our experience at the Adrian Girls Training School in the fall of 2006.

One of the early milestones in the development of LostVoices was the mini-documentary Young Poet Incarcerated, a fifteen-minute film that delves into the soul of a troubled young man through his poetry. It provides a startling insight into the fears, anger, frustration, and hope that rules the lives of these kids.
