George is a Michigan native with degrees from Michigan State University (B.A., Economics, 1974) and Wayne State University (J.D., 1988). In his law practice he has seen how trauma, neglect and abuse of young people can lead to a life of poverty and even prison. Later, while serving in the Prison Ministry at Northridge Church, he met many inmates who might have avoided prison if someone or something had changed the trajectory of their lives while young, which is precisely what Lost Voices is designed for.
George has been a fan of Josh White Jr. since his teen years, and when he saw Josh with Mike Ball in Plymouth, he was impressed with their work and their dedication to the young people they serve. That summer he and his wife Kathy hosted a back-yard fundraising concert with Josh and Mike, and he gradually become more involved with Lost Voices. He joined the Board of Directors in 2020.
