This film is a fifteen-minute mini-documentary in which an incarcerated young man uses his poetry to paint a picture of himself, his past, and his remarkable struggle toward a better life. It was filmed by Lost Voices founder Mike Ball during the summer of 2005 at the W.J. Maxey Boys Training School in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
Young Poet Incarcerated was funded by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Michigan Humanities Council, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the Northfield Township Area Library.
